What Happens at a Pet Sitter Meet and Greet?

A meet and greet is a complimentary visit before any booking, where I meet you and your pet at home and we go through everything the care will involve. I care for pets in Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall. Before your first booking, we'll arrange one, and nothing is booked until we're both comfortable.

Why does a pet sitter meet your pet before the first booking?

Meeting with you in the room helps a pet get used to someone new. It also lets me see the routine where the care will happen, in your home, instead of hearing about it for the first time on the day you leave.

What does the meet and greet cover?

The conversation follows your pet's day from start to finish. At the meet and greet, we'll cover:

  • the daily routine and feeding
  • allergies and any medication
  • training, play, walks and favourite activities
  • how I'll access your home
  • your emergency contacts and your veterinarian's information
  • your questions, and the paperwork

What should you have ready?

Please have your veterinarian's name and phone number, another emergency contact, feeding amounts and times, and any medication with its dose and schedule ready for the visit. Basic medication administration is included during a scheduled visit or overnight stay. If your pet's medication needs extra time or more complex care, we'll discuss the arrangements and any additional cost before booking.

What happens after the meet and greet?

If we're both comfortable and the dates are available, I'll confirm the booking with you. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel a walk or drop-in visit, and at least seven days' notice for overnight or vacation care. I accept Interac e-Transfer and cash.

How do you arrange a meet and greet?

Send a request with your pet's details, the care you are looking for and your dates, and I'll reply to arrange the meet and greet.
